With Christmas traditions and activities in jeopardy as a result of Covid-19, we’ve searched across the county to find some festive fun for the whole family to spread Christmas cheer loud enough for us all to hear!

Tilgate Parks Magical Christmas is a Winter Wonderland waiting to be explored with live entertainment, a Santa’s Grotto, a Christmas Market and magical festive decorations. Not to mention the Alpine-themed bar!

The attraction will be running every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through December as well as Monday 23rd. Entry is free but there are some charges for individual attractions.

Never seen before in the South East, SteamLights is coming to the Bluebell Railway in Uckfield! A seasonal light spectacular that sparkles, glows and shimmers all aboard a magical steam train.

A truly illuminating and magical experience, with festive displays, music and narration, this is a steam train experience not to be missed!

The multi-sensory feast will run from 14th November- 5th January 2021, tickets are on sale now – you don’t want to miss the most festive and magical train journey you will ever embark upon!

Also running on the Bluebell Railway this year is the annual ‘Santa Specials’ which are available to book form 5th-24th December and allows passengers to enjoy mince pies and chocolate coins on board within their private compartment, marvel at the Winter countryside as it whizzes by before visiting Santa in his parlour and collecting a special gift from Santa’s Workshop!

Parents can enjoy a mulled wine on the platform whilst t the children can enjoy traditional fairground rides or pick up some last-minute gifts at the market stalls and shops!

A festive and well thought out (to adhere to Covid-19 guidelines) event that is sure to get you in to the Christmas Spirit!

Start the Christmas shopping early at Weald & Downland Museum near Chichester as their famous Christmas markets will be open from 20th-22nd November. Enjoy a great day out at the museum as well as marvel at the wonderful stalls selling arts, crafts, food, unusual gifts and more festive fun than we can possibly mention! Festive music and seasonal treats will also be available to sample and buy. Tickets are on sale now and prices include access to the museum and market.

At Wakehurst in Haywards Heath, follow an enchanting trail of glowing lanterns, torches, projections and soundscapes at their annual ‘Glow Wild’ event. The gardens are brought to life as darkness descends with projections, lanterns and torches of fire. You can even marvel at the UK’s tallest living Christmas tree as its adorned with 1,800 lights.

Running from 26th November to 30th December the trail is full of surprises and new additions, booking online is essential.

Family favourite Fishers Farm are also getting in on the festive action with their own pantomime and meet and greet with Father Christmas every weekend in December in the run up to Christmas!

Walk through a glittering winter wonderland, with festive music aplenty with a twinkling path leading you towards a cosy log fire where Father Christmas awaits! This is only part of the spectacular festive fun at Fishers Farm as they host a live pantomime in the cosy Barn Theatre filled with songs, slapstick and Cinderella!
