If you’d like to spend a fun-filled day doing something a little different then you’re in luck because we have put together a collection of all the coolest theme parks in the South East of England.

The list we’ve put together doesn’t just include the classic rollercoasters but also water parks, themed parks, play areas and much more…

 1. CHESSINGTON WORLD OF ADVENTURES

First on our list is Chessington World of Adventures, which is perfect for the whole family! Located south of London, it’s a mere 1h 20 drive from Worthing.

Tickets are £29.50 if booked in advance, which we highly recommend, and they include entry to Theme Park, Zoo and Sea Life Centre.

2. THORPE PARK

Not too far from Chessington we also have another fantastic theme park, Thorpe Park. Surrounded by water, the park looks like an island and offers some amazing rides and attractions for families with both older and younger kids.

Tickets start from £39 when booked online and it’s only a 1.5-hour drive from Worthing.

3. LEGOLAND

Legoland is the second most visited theme park in the UK. It’s 1,5 hours from Worthing and you can buy tickets online for £26, as well as taking advantage of any special offers they publish on their website from time to time. The park is perfect for families with younger children (11 and under) and offers Lego-themed rides, models and building workshops. You can read more about what to expect from a day at Legoland and how they are working hard to make it COVID safe here.

4. PEPPA PIG WORLD

Another amazing family theme park on our list and a firm favourite with our local little ones is Peppa Pig World. Fans of Peppa and George will love visiting this park as you get to come face to face with your famous characters. Located in the New Forest, Hampshire, just 1.5-hour drive from Worthing. Peppa Pig World offers 9 rides, small play areas, water splash park and themed buildings.

Advance tickets start from £104,75 for a family of 3 and go up to £173,75 for a family of 5.

5. ALTON TOWERS

Alton Towers is a little further away compared to the rest of the parks on our list as it’s in Staffordshire, but it’s definitely worth the drive. Tickets are £34 per person and it’s perfect for a family with kids of all ages. The older kids will be able to enjoy the thrill-seeking rides like Oblivion while the younger kids will have fun at CBeebies Land.
